The Dodgers will have Tyler Glasnow on the mound. Glasnow resumed his dominance last time out, holding the Angels to only two runs (one earned) in seven innings, and was credited with a win. The veteran has been the Dodgers ace this season. He has a 2.42 ERA this month and has delivered a sharp 2.88 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP accompanied by an 8-5 record in 100 innings. Glasnow conceded three runs against the Giants last month and has issued a 1.80 ERA and a 3-0 record in 20 career innings.

Los Angeles is in good shape atop the division and is battling with the Phillies for the top record in the NL. The Dodgers continue to shine. They have won three of their last four series. They collected one win in two meetings against the Angels last week and earned the sweep against the White Sox before this series, plating 11 runs while giving up just three runs. The Dodgers are 11 games above .500 on the road.

Los Angeles is averaging 4.99 runs per game, ranking them fourth. The pitching staff has a 3.25 ERA, good for second.

The Giants will probably be going with another bullpen game. Erik Miller could be the opener. He posted one scoreless inning against the Cubs in his previous effort and has posted a 3.79 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP on the season. Sean Hjelle is a candidate to pitch bulk innings. He posted three scoreless innings against the Cubs this week and has a 2.33 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. Randy Rodriguez will probably be in this game. The rookie has a 4.70 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 30.2 innings. The Giants bullpen has been an issue at times, recording a 4.25 ERA on the year.

San Francisco is struggling to win games with consistency but is only three games out of a wildcard spot. They were dealt a sweep by the Cardinals last weekend and host the Cubs this week, posting three wins in four meetings propelled by the pitching. The Giants are five games above .500 at home.

Heliot Ramos continues to dazzle, posting a remarkable .947 OPS on the month. The 24-year-old has been the Giants’ most dangerous hitter, smashing 10 home runs with 35 RBIs and an outstanding .871 OPS. Ramos is 4 for 12 with three RBIs against the Dodgers. Mike Yastrezemski is out with an injury.

San Francisco is posting an average of 4.37 runs per game, rating them 14th. The pitching staff has a 4.45 ERA, placing the 25th.
