Utah Jazz Roster: 3 Players Who Won’t be back Next Season

With only two games left in the season, it’s that time of the year when some of our favorite players will be suiting up for the Utah Jazz for the last time. Which players are on their way out, and who will be a part of the future? Let’s take a look.

Talen Horton-Tucker

The Horton-Tucker experiment will be coming to an abrupt end next week. The former first-round draft pick came over in the trade involving Patrick Beverly. Indirectly, Horton-Tucker became a Jazzman due to the Rudy Gobert exchange in 2022.

Even though it didn’t work out, the exchange was worth the roll of the dice. ‘THT’ has the measurements and athleticism coveted in today’s NBA. However, his downfall was his efficiency issues and not being a natural fit for the point guard position. The Jazz drafting Keyonte George in the first round of last year’s draft didn’t help either.

Horton-Tucker is only 23 years old and likely to make an NBA roster, but another shot in Salt Lake City can be put to bed. To his credit, he has shot a career-best 33.9% from long distance this year, and if he can keep improving on that number, there’s a shot he can make an NBA rotation moving forward up,

Jordan Clarkson

Likely, Utah’s most-tenured player won’t reside in Salt Lake City next year. Clarkson has always been a fan-favorite, but at this stage of his career, it just doesn’t make sense to be on a team rebuilding.

Utah purposefully front-loaded his contract to make it easier to trade him this offseason. I still think there’s a small chance Clarkson could be back to start next season if Utah can’t find a trade partner willing to give up an asset due to his coming off of a career-worst year and his inability to stay healthy.
