According to a Jefferson City Police Department Report, Hill was driving a Ford F150 in the East Bound Lane going West bound shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday where he struck three vehicles, causing apparently minor injuries.

Officer Jessica Bryant reported that when she arrived on the scene Hill was attempting to start his vehicle but it would not start.

“I took the keys out of the ignition after telling Timothy Hill to stop,” she said. “Timothy Hill stated, ‘Everything is fine.’”

After being checked for injuries, Hill declined going to the hospital.

Bryant, who said she could immediately smell alcohol coming from Hill when she arrived at his vehicle, said the basketball coach was swaying on his feet and unstready and had to be helped to stand.

Because of his unsteadiness, it was unsafe to do field sobriety tests, however Hill was unable to give his correct birthday or answer simple questions.

“I put Mr. Hill in the back of my vehicle where I asked if he would comply to a consensual blood draw at which time, he kept asking me to repeat myself. I did so three times before shutting the door because he was unable to comprehend due to intoxication,” Bryant wrote. “I transported Mr. Hill to the Jefferson City Police Department at which time I read him the Tennessee Blood and or Breath Consent Advisement. Mr. Hill stated he wanted a lawyer and would not either consent or refuse. Mr. Hill was placed into a cell while I wrote my search warrant.Making the case for Tennessee basketball's Dalton Knecht as SEC POY - Tennessee

“While in the cell Mr. Hill was passing out from being intoxicated. Mr. Hill told Officer Shofner he would do blood. At which time I took the consent form in there and Mr. Hill stated he wanted a lawyer again. Officer Wright stated to Mr. Hill he needed to sign the refusal on the consent form and Mr. Hill just kept stating he wanted a lawyer and to speak to his mother.”

The police obtained a search warrant for Hill’s blood and it was drawn at Jefferson Memorial Hospital without incident.

Bryant said the driver of one of the vehicles Hill hit had blood on her face from a busted nose. Another stated she was having back and neck pain and would go to the hospital.

In addition to being charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law, Hill was cited with reckless driving, failure to provide insurance, no driver’s license, due care and driver on the wrong side of the highway.
