Commanders’ Ben Sinnott To Be ‘Instant Hit’ In Rookie Season?
The Washington Commanders drafted tight end Ben Sinnott in the second round of the draft, and CBS Sports thinks he will be a key contributor for Kliff Kingsbury.

The Washington Commanders’ offseason has seen a host of new faces walk through the door. First, there was free agency, which saw no less than 12 players come in, and then the draft.

Of course, Jayden Daniels headlined the Commanders’ haul at No. 2, but while Washington had a host of other picks, tight end Ben Sinnott is looming as a player to watch in 2024.

Washington’s second-round pick is gaining traction as a good weapon for Jayden Daniels, and CBS Sports thinks he could be an instant hit in the Nation’s capital.

“Sinnott showed shades of Sam LaPort-ian skills in his final season for the Wildcats,” CBS Sports wrote. “The suddenness, the assertive cutting and tackle-breaking talent after the catch, and strong hands. With over 1,100 yards in his final two seasons at Kansas State, Sinnott is plenty advanced as a receiver to be an instant hit with the Commanders.”

The Kansas State tight end didn’t exactly set records in college, totaling 1,138 yards and 10 touchdowns in three seasons, but his ability to be a tackle-breaker with assured hands looms large in the NFL.

While Sinnott might not be a household name, he could be sooner rather than later, and given the Commanders’ weapons on the outside and in the backfield, the rookie tight end could be very productive for Kliff Kingsbury.

In a tight end room that has veteran Zach Ertz, Sinnott has a good sounding board as he navigates his first NFL season.

Training camp will give us a good indication if Sinnott could be an “instant hit” and right now, there is an avenue for him to be TE1 in Washington.

And that starts with hitting the ground running in year one.
