Sepultura Announces Global Tour To Celebrate 40 Years of Production
World metal music has been greatly influenced by the Brazilian thrash/groove metal band.
Sepultura declared via their official Instagram account that their globe tour will be their farewell to their followers.
Over the course of the next 18 months, the tour will be conducted.
“Sepultura has reached the end of the road and chose to leave through planned and conscious deaths,” the user said on Sunday, December 10, in a description of an Instagram upload.
“Over the next 18 months we will celebrate our 40 years of existence together with our loyal fans on the farewell tour around the world,” he said.
For the final time, the band on this world tour—which includes drummer Eloy Casagrande, bassist Paulo Jr., guitarist Andreas Kisser, and vocalist Derrick Green—is celebrating both the past and the present.
Sepultura traveled to eighty different nations during their career. They pledged to include every fan in the final universe.
“During this 40th anniversary tour, we will record 40 live songs in 40 different cities and release a massive compilation of our best and most energetic moments on stage,” Sepultura stated.
For all that we have seen over the last forty years, we are content and incredibly appreciative. We have put out fantastic records, performed at performances that will never be forgotten, cultivated friendships, met our heroes, and helped establish Brazilian metal as a global phenomenon. As a result, we believe we can exit the music industry feeling as though our obligations have been met,” he said.
Sepultura has so far disclosed their tour dates for Europe, Latin America, and Brazil.
Brazil tours began on March 1, 2024, in Belo Horizonte, and ended on March 23, 2024, in Florian Badminton. On September 6, 2024, they will make a comeback to Sao Paulo, though.
The Latin American tour thus commenced on April 13, 2024, in San Jose, Costa Rica, and concluded on April 22, 2024, in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Additionally, the European tour is scheduled to begin on October 30, 2024, in Paris, France, and conclude on November 23, 2024, in Prague, Czech Republic.
Tours to other regions of the world, such Asia, particularly Indonesia, have not yet been confirmed. Sepultura last made an appearance in Indonesia on September 30, 2023, during the Jogja ROCKarta Festival.
