There are very high expectations for Lamb’s 2024 campaign following such a strong season. So much so that Dallas’ wide receiver was predicted to shatter the NFL regular season catches record in a recent Bleacher Report piece.

Last season, Lamb wasn’t too far off the mark. With 135 snags, the Cowboys’ main target was first in the league. Becoming the first wide receiver to reach 150 receptions in a regular season depends on three variables. To start, Lamb must average close to nine catches every game in order to succeed. Late in the previous season, he and quarterback Dak Prescott were clicking. In the remaining seven games of the Cowboys season, which included a postseason trip, Lamb averaged 9.4 yards per reception.
Second, Dallas did next-to-nothing to improve the situation around Lamb, who played all 17 regular-season contests in back-to-back years. The team still lacks a legitimate WR2 and Brandin Cooks is now one year older.
