Football enthusiasts from Alabama are well aware that two team records are more important than any other record. SEC and national championships make up those records. The Alabama Crimson Tide cannot break any major records in 2024 because they own the SEC championship record and the college football record for the most national titles. 
In 2024, there will probably be several records broken in Alabama football. There is too much talent on the 2024 roster to break any records. The team records for scoring defense won’t be beaten. It is hard to say whether or not offensive team records will be broken. In Tuscaloosa, a new offensive age has begun. The offensive acumen of Kalen DeBoer is highly regarded. With a squad that is more talented than any team he has ever coached, who is to say that DeBoer’s offense won’t set records?
Score records for teams might be deceptive. In 2012 and 2013, for instance, the Baylor Bears averaged 44.5 points and 52.4 points per game, respectively. 2012 saw Baylor defeat West Virginia with a score of 63 points. Even though the Bears scored 50 points against Texas that season, they still lost. The goal is to prevail in difficult games; even elite attacks require strong defenses.
Eight of the ten National Champions from the Playoff Era had a scoring defense ranked no lower than 13 in the FBS. Five of the seven had No. 1 ranked scoring defenses, while seven of the eight had scoring defenses ranked No. 5 or above. The two standout defenses from the winners were LSU, which was ranked No. 31 in 2019, and Ohio State, which was ranked No. 26 in 2014.
