Biles’ Olympics will begin on Sunday, July 28 when she and the rest of Team USA will participate in qualifying. That round will determine whether the United States qualifies for the team competition finals — which it is expected to do — as well as the individual event finals for which Biles qualifies.
Biles is expected to fare well on the vault, floor exercises and balance beam. She is also the top contender in the all-around competition. The only question is whether she will qualify for the finals in each event and whether she will be able to outdo Suni Lee and her other teammates on the uneven bars to earn her way into that event.
Biles will participate in each of the first four events listed, barring a disaster in qualifying or an injury. She seems likely to make the beam final after earning bronze at each of the last two Olympic Games as well, so that may be on her list.
The uneven bars are arguably Biles’ weakest event, so if she sits one event out, it would likely be this one. This may be a spot where Biles lets Lee and her other teammates — Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles — compete to show out and battle for medals.
Biles’ events will air on NBC and its family of networks throughout the 2024 Olympics.
Almost all of the events involving Biles will be broadcast on NBC, though a couple of the women’s finals — balance beam and floor exercises — will be broadcast on E! and Peacock.
Cord-cutters looking to watch Olympic gymnastics can do so with NBC’s streaming service Peacock or Fubo, which comes with a free trial and carries NBC and its entire family of networks.
All of Team USA’s women’s gymnastics events will be available on Fubo.
