Following ten years in the Premier League, the defender was among the first players added to the Bluebirds roster this summer.

After a “tough” couple of years at Aston Villa, Calum Chambers is eager to get Cardiff City back into the Premier League and is prepared to start over in his football career.

The 29-year-old center back was signed by the Bluebirds at the beginning of the summer because they thought he would be a key component of their plans and the way they wanted to take the team.

Following a ten-year tenure in the Premier League with Southampton, Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Fulham, and Villa, Chambers’ move meant that his season opener against Sunderland marked his first time away from the top division.

But after barely 30 Premier League games in the previous three years, Chambers felt he needed to be a regular player and an essential part of his next project. Chambers was at a crossroads.

Regarding his choice to go to the capital of Wales, Chambers stated, “It was a key one for me.” In order to be able to look back and be proud of having been a part of anything, I wanted to go somewhere and make memories at a club.
