Coach Kalen DeBoer announce a devastating news

Kickoff time announced for Alabama football’s trip to WisconsinAlabama Hires Kalen DeBoer - Josh Pate Rapid Reaction (Late Kick Cut)

Alabama’s first road trip of the 2024 football season now has a kickoff time. When UA travels to Camp Randall to play Wisconsin on Sept. 14, the game will start at approximately 11 a.m. CT.

FOX announced its “Big Noon Kickoff” slate on Monday afternoon, which includes a meeting between Texas and Michigan on Sept. 7. It’s the second kickoff time announced for Crimson Tide football.

The other is a highly-anticipated primetime showdown against Kirby Smart and Georgia (6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, ESPN). Kalen DeBoer will have a week off between his opening UA road test and conference matchup.

Five years ago, Alabama and Wisconsin announced a home-and-home series. The Badgers will return to Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2025. UA has played Wisconsin twice to a 1-1 record. It lost in Madison, Wisc., on Nov. 3, 1928, but beat up the Badgers to open the 2015 season. Alabama’s future non-conference opponents include West Virginia (starting in 2026), Ohio State (2027) and Notre Dame (2029).

Wisconsin went 7-6 last season, winning five Big 10 games and losing the ReliaQuest Bowl to LSU, 35-31. Luke Fickell coached against a Nick Saban-led Tide in the 2021 Cotton Bowl Classic as Cincinnati’s head coach. This September, Fickell will guide his new quarterback Tyler Van Dyke — who flirted with Alabama last summer before Jalen Milroe won the starting job in Tuscaloosa — against Kane Wommack’s defense.

The game should also be a reunion for new UA safeties coach Colin Hitschler. He followed Fickell from Cincinnati to Camp Randall before accepting a job on DeBoer’s staff this offseason.
