Colorado Star Travis Hunter Taken To Hospital After Late HitShilo Sanders injury: Will Coach Prime’s son play the Colorado Buffaloes’ next game?

oach Prime revealed that his son, Shilo Sanders, suffered a broken forearm during the Colorado Buffaloes’ Week 2 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, meaning he is out of action for their next game.

Sanders, one of the team’s best defensive players and the lead safety, left the 28-10 defeat to Dylan Raiola and the Cornhuskers in the first-half and did not return for the second prompting questions about his health for upcoming games.

“Think broken forearm or something like that, so he won’t be back here,” Deion Sanders, the head coach and his father, said to NBC.

Sanders had posted two tackles in the first defensive effort of the night for the Buffaloes, before he later left in the same first defensive drive of the game in a set back for the man who recorded 70 tackles in 2023 as well as four forced fumbles.

The Buffaloes went on to soundly lose the contest at the Lincoln Memorial Stadium in Nebraska as the Cornhuskers ran out 28-10 winners with Raiola throwing for 185 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, September 7.

Shilo’s brother Shedeur, who is the team’s quarterback, posted strong stats of 244 yards and a touchdown although he only managed a 60% pass completion rate compared to 76% for his opponent’s play caller.

When do the Colorado Buffaloes play next?

The Colorado Buffaloes began their campaign with signs of initial promise after defeating the North Dakota State Bisons 31-26 in Week 1 before slumping to the Week 2 loss against the Cornhuskers.

As a result, they will bid to hit back against the Colorado State Rams on September 14 as they head on the road to the Canvas Stadium for an 21:30 ET/18:30 PT start, which will air live on CBS.

They will have to do it without Shilo Sanders however, with his injury meaning he will not be fit to play if it actually is a broken arm as his father first feared.
