Trade decline: legend Lexi Thompson turns down $674.2 million offer just to become…

In May, Lexi Thompson made an emotional announcement that after the 2024 season concludes, she would no longer be on the LPGA Tour events and would bid her two-decade-long career a hearty farewell. It was indeed shocking news for many, as Thompson has been one of the greatest talents on the women’s circuit. But she deemed that it was time for her to start another journey.

But before that, Thompson was given all the honor for her contribution to the game. Although she could not be a part of the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame, the 11-time LPGA Tour winner was inducted into her county’s Hall of Fame. On 18th October, at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, Thompson was added to the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame among other athletes like Abbas Karimi, a 2-time silver medal Paralympian, Elliot Bonner, former football and baseball coach, and others.

Sharing the incredible news with her fans, Thompson posted herself posing with the glass trophy on Instagram and wrote, “An incredible honor to be inducted into the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame! What an amazing night it was.” Thompson also gave a speech at the venue as she shared the stage and thanked Broward County for all the support.

After playing in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship last month, Thompson has been taking a break because of her wrist injury. The 6-time Solheim Cup team member may be back at The ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, before teeing up at the season-ending championship and hanging her clubs. It will surely be a sentimental moment for the pro and her fans, but Thompson has many things planned to stay connected with them.

The one reason Lexi Thompson shared behind her retirement was that she wanted to start her family, settle down, and get married. But it does not mean that the golf world would never see her play golf again. Yes, she would probably not be at many events, but Thompson revealed she would still play the game which made her an ace athlete.
