Mary J. Blige, along with Ne-Yo and Mario, will perform at the XL Center in Hartford on April 8 as part of “The For My Fans Tour,” the venue’s website announced. Doors for the event are set to open at 6 p.m., while the concert begins at 7 p.m. Aside from the Nutmeg State, the tour is also set to make stops in states like New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Maryland.
The tour celebrates Mary J. Blige’s 15th album, “Gratitude,” released on Nov. 15, according to the XL Center’s website. The hip-hop, R&B and soul singer told PEOPLE in August that the theme of the album is about “enjoying life,” being grateful for her success and understanding what inspires her. She also told PEOPLE in April that this would probably be her last studio album.
The hit-making Gen-X icon pioneered the successful blending of R&B and hip-hop, starring with her 1992 debut, “What’s The 411.” Blige is also a Grammy and Emmy-winning singer-songwriter and actor who received an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for her role in “Mudbound.”
