It is understandable how Florida Football fans might be a little skittish about NIL after the Jaden Rashada saga. Rashada was released from his letter of intent and transferred to Arizona State after his NIL deal with Florida fell through.
But despite message board trolls trying to stir up panic among the Gator fanbase, DJ Lagway officially announced his partnership with Florida’s current NIL collective.
Florida Football: Let’s Get To Work
After the Gator Collective collapsed, Florida shifted its NIL efforts to Florida Victorious. And while there has been some angst as to how aggressively Florida has or has not raised funds for Florida Victorious, it is a better organized collective than its predecessor.
But because there is never a dull day in Gainesville, message board fodder was trying to sound alarms that Lagway was in danger of bailing on the Gators.
Combined with the fact that Lagway’s Instagram had indeed been wiped clean, there was a feeling of “Oh no, not again,” even though there was zero credible reporting on the matter.
It didn’t take long from the message board rumors circulating to when Lagway and Florida Victorious put those rumors to bed.
