Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles are in the midst of what could be the worst season in program history.
After running the regular-season table and winning the ACC Championship in 2023, the Seminoles’ stock has absolutely tanked in 2024.
Florida State is 1-8 in 2024 despite entering the year as a preseason Top-10 team in college football.
In addition to all the team’s losses on the field, the program continues to see highly-touted recruits drop like flies. The Seminoles’ most recent recruiting loss is a major blow for the program moving forward.
4-star linebacker recruit Izayia Williams had been committed to Florida State’s 2026 class since Sep. 4. But on Thursday, the elite Florida native announced the decision to reopen his recruitment.
Williams has offers from some of the top programs in college football, including Alabama, Florida, Miami, Michigan and Ole Miss.
Norvell is taking some serious heat following Williams’ decision to decommit.
“They’re letting Mike Norvell destroy them for a decade,” one fan wrote.
“Holy [expletive]. They are going to be forced to can Norvell and pay that big buyout if no one wants to play for him,” another said.
“Everyone in this program needs to be fired. Mike you can kiss my [expletive] and keep it moving,” another added.
Norvell and the Seminoles have another tough challenge ahead as they’re scheduled to face off against the No. 10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a primetime game in South Bend on Saturday night.
