Rapports sign Orlando Robinson Top 10-day contact

The Toronto Raptors have signed Orlando Robinson to a 10-day contract, adding depth to their roster as they navigate the remainder of the 2024-2025 NBA season. Robinson, a 7-foot center, has displayed notable potential in the NBA G League, where he has demonstrated his skills both offensively and defensively. Known for his rebounding ability, solid post moves, and shot-blocking, Robinson provides the Raptors with a versatile big man who can contribute in various areas of the game.

Before joining the Raptors, Robinson had a strong run with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat’s G League affiliate, where he garnered attention for his consistent performances. He averaged double figures in both points and rebounds, showing off his offensive skills in the paint while also anchoring the defense. Robinson’s ability to protect the rim and stretch the floor gives him an edge as a potential rotational player, should he secure a longer-term spot with Toronto.

This signing comes at a time when the Raptors have experienced some challenges with their frontcourt depth, particularly in terms of size and defensive presence. With injuries and inconsistent performances from some big men on the roster, Robinson’s arrival provides head coach Darko Rajaković with another option to experiment with in terms of lineups. His 10-day contract allows the team to evaluate his fit with the squad without a long-term commitment.

Robinson’s signing is also indicative of the Raptors’ strategy to explore options in the middle of the season and potentially find hidden gems that can contribute down the stretch. If Robinson impresses during his time with the Raptors, he could earn a more permanent role moving forward, whether with Toronto or elsewhere in the league.
