The Denver Nuggets got the better of the Los Angeles Lakers in the past two seasons. But that was before Luka Doncic graced their ranks. The Lakers bounced back to winning ways against the Trail Blazers in their most recent matchup. LeBron James was the star of the show as he put up a stellar 40-point performance.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets are in red-hot form. They have won ten straight games with their most recent win against the Hornets. So, it will be an uphill battle for Los Angeles against a formidable Denver side. But there could be some problems coming their way based on the latest updates about Luka and LeBron.
The Lakers might be missing out a few key players heading to the Ball Arena in Denver. Luka Doncic did not suit up on Thursday against the Trail Blazers and fans want to know the Slovenian’s availability for this highly anticipated clash. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old guard might miss out on tonight’s action because of his left calf injury.
But this in not where the roubles end for the team and Lakers fans as LeBron James is also probable for this matchup. The No.23 is on the injury report and is questionable due to a left foot injury management. So far, James has been phenomenal for his team, averaging 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. So his absence is more or less a gaping void for the LA team. And the injuries do not just stop there.
Maxi Kleber is also ruled out for tonight. This isn’t great news for L.A. given they are up against a tough opponent in Nikola Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets roster.
However, the Mile City team also has their fair share of injury concerns. Forward Aaron Gordon and point guard Jamal Murray are questionable. And, Denver will also miss Vlatko Cancar, Peyton Watson, and DaRon Holmes II. With multiple gaps in the team, it will be interesting to see how the Denver and LA teams will navigate through these injuries and line up for a much-awaited clash.
