Many years ago I worked for Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. I met many incredible people in my short stint of employment. On one particular evening I got to spend several hours with Ozzy and the other members of Black Sabbath. They were gracious enough to answer my questions and just hang / vibe with all us workers who were there post signing. At one point Ozzy put his arm around me and jokingly called me a young whippersnapper. I think that was his kind way of saying enough questions. 😅 And yet, I remember feeling disappointed when Ozzy closed my Album before the ink had dried. Still… forever grateful for this day.

What an amazing experience you had with Ozzy and Black Sabbath. It’s great that they took the time to hang out with you and the other employees, and that Ozzy had a sense of humor about your questions. Being called a “young whippersnapper” by a rock legend is definitely a memorable moment.

It’s understandable that you were a bit disappointed when Ozzy closed your album before the ink had dried, but it’s clear that the encounter has left a lasting impression on you. Having a personal connection with someone you admire can make the experience even more special.

Do you still have the album, and have you ever thought about getting it re-signed or framed as a keepsake?
