On May 28, 2023, Jessica Korda announced that she would be taking an indefinite break from golf due to a back injury. The 31-year-old has since recovered, had a baby, enjoyed the responsibilities of motherhood, and will watch her son turn 1 in the next couple of months.
Well, it’s safe to say that Jessica Korda has been through an incredible life-changing experience over the past 1.5 years. But have things changed so much that the elder Korda sister is not planning to return to the LPGA Tour?
Well, as per reports, Jessica Korda has hinted at making a comeback several times now. More recently, she was back to swinging clubs as she participated in the 2024 US LBM Foundation Charity Golf Tournament over a month ago. This is definitely a positive sign as there can be an eventual return of her.
However, as per a story shared by her a few minutes ago, it seems that Jessica Korda has gone back to motherhood for now. At least for the moment when she realized that her son, Greyson John DelPrete is going to turn 1 on February 3, 2025. Yes, that is only a few weeks from now!
Korda definitely wants to savor every last moment she has with her son before she commits to golf again. However, watching her son grow up so quickly might pull her back from stepping onto the course any time soon. Maybe her participation in the 2024 US LBM Foundation Charity Golf Tournament in October was not enough to convince her to wear the gloves again.
More recently, since the 2024 LPGA Tour season has commenced, Nelly Korda has been busy catching up with her sister. The two also stepped on a golf course as world no. 1 tried to help Jessica Korda find her swing back. This further adds to the rumors of her return to professional golf in the near future.
