The Georgia Bulldogs won the SEC Championship game over the Texas Longhorns this past weekend, with the final score settling in at 22-19. And after Gunner Stockton filled in for an injured Carson Beck in the second half, David Pollack shared a blunt message regarding the two quarterbacks.
After taking a big hit right before halftime, Beck did not return to the game in the second half, with Stockton filling in and promptly leading Georgia to victory. Beck is dealing with an elbow injury now, and his status for Georgia’s College Football Playoff run is up in the air.
If Beck cannot go, Stockton would get the ball under center. If you ask Pollack, though, that may not be the worst thing to happen, as he believes that Stockton’s energy was a big reason why the Bulldogs beat the Longhorns for the second time this season.
“I am not saying Carson Beck is not good…but Carson Beck is absolutely a flatliner,” Pollack said in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “He is not emotional…When my quarterback gets juiced up, I love it. I rally behind it. When Gunner runs to the right on his first drive and runs a guy over instead of running out of bounds and the sideline is jumping up and down like crazy, it infuses your team.”
