The Haddon Heights graduate and South Jersey softball legend posted on X:

“First, I appreciate Coach (Patty) Gasso for keeping my information private. I made the decision myself to step away from school and softball for the rest of the season because I needed to take time to work on my personal/mental health. This was something that I felt needed to be dealt with back home with my family’s support, and also so I wasn’t a distraction to the team in the middle of the season.

“I appreciate everyone’s concerns but wish that information wasn’t being falsely spread the way it was. With that being said, the season is still going on and my girls are still working. I’m always watching and cheering them on no matter what. BOOMER!”

According to a report by The Oklahoman last week, Gasso confirmed Bordi left the softball program due to a “personal situation.”

Bordi graduated Haddon Heights early so she could begin her career at Oklahoma this spring. She red-shirted this season.

The Merchantville native was a three-time All-South Jersey selection and two-time South Jersey Pitcher of the Year. She won a pair of state titles with the Garnets, throwing a perfect game in one title game and a 20-strikeout, no-hitter in the other state final.

Bordi was limited to 14 games as a junior because of injuries.
