Ozzy Osbourne, 74, has sad prediction about how long he has left to live
Ozzy Osbourne believes he has ‘at best 10 years left’ to live after as he admitted he didn’t want to have a ‘long, painful and miserable existence.’
The Black Sabbath rocker, 74, has been open about his health struggles over the years. He revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis publically three years ago but has secretly been battling the disease since 2003. Last year he underwent ‘life-altering’ surgery to realign a series of pins in his neck and back that he had inserted after a quad biking accident 20 years ago.
The legendary musician has another operation on his back in the near future, the fourth he has had to have since his 2019 fall which injured the vertebrae in his neck and left him needing major surgery. “All I know is right now, I’m in a lot of pain, I’m in a lot of discomfort,” he said on his family’s podcast in September.
In a recent interview, Ozzy talked about his life and how long he thinks he has left to live. He said there’s still plenty of life in him and admitted it ‘p****s him off’ when he sees stories about him ‘fighting his last battle’.

The War Pigs singer, who also struggled with booze and drug problems in the past, explained to Rolling Stone UK: “I don’t fear dying, but I don’t want to have a long, painful and miserable existence. I like the idea that if you have a terminal illness, you can go to a place in Switzerland and get it done quickly. I saw my father die of cancer.
“But look, I said to Sharon that I’d smoked a joint recently and she said, ‘What are you doing that for? It’ll f***ing kill you!’ I said, ‘How long do you want me to f***ing live for?!’ At best, I’ve got 10 years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed. Me and Sharon had our 41st wedding anniversary recently, and that’s just unbelievable to me!”
The singer and husband of Sharon Osbourne has been riddled with health issues in recent years and also had a filter removed from his artery earlier this year. He has since said he is “battling through” on a recent episode of Ozzy Speaks. “I feel like a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest,” he said.
“The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records. But I can’t do that forever.” In October, he cancelled his performance at the Power Trip Festival in California – which would have been his first concert in five years – as he focused on his health. Ozzy took to social media to announce the “painful” decision to followers as he revealed he had to listen to his body.
