Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ‘sent home’ from training camp leaving fans concerned ‘he’s OK’

Jackson’s departure from camp comes on just the veterans’ second day in attendance.

In a tweet, the Ravens revealed that the reigning NFL MVP had “been sent home with an illness.”

Exactly what illness Jackson had been suffering from, or when they expected him to be able to return, was not made clear.

Their star quarterback’s early departure from training camp was met with concern from Ravens fans on X.

“Hope he’s ok,” one fan commented.”Feel better soon, QB1,” said a second.While a third joked, “Got the PTO in early this year.”Jackson is fresh off another stellar season in which he threw for a career-high 3,678 yards.

His 4,499 yards and 29 touchdowns from scrimmage led him to win his second career MVP award, while also reaching his third-ever Pro Bowl, and being named a First-Team All-Pro.

When asked by reporters during mandatory minicamp about his decision to forfeit these bonuses, Jackson remained coy.

“I never discuss my contract up here. I’m not about to start today,” he said, via ESPN.

Jackson also explained that his focus was “on just getting better” while also “focusing on tomorrow.”

“We just had a great practice. We’re just trying to keep it going. Then, when [training] camp comes, camp is going to come.”

Jackson is set to enter the second year of the five-year $260 million deal he signed in 2023.

They will then host the Atlanta Falcons on August 17 before a trip to Wisconsin to take on the Green Bay Packers on August 24.

Baltimore will take on the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener at Arrowhead Stadium on September 5.

His cap hit for the 2024 season will be $32.4 million.

The Ravens will kick off their preseason slate against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 9.
