The former world number one has had issues with her right knee since returning to the circuit after the doping suspension.
Simona is expected to play again in an official tournament starting on October 28th, in Hong Kong.
Simona Halep’s presence at a new tournament has been officially confirmed.
The organizers of the Hong Kong tournament have confirmed that Simona Halep will participate in the event starting on October 28.
The tournament is part of the WTA 250 category, and the organizers have stated that Simona will compete.
Alongside Simona, players such as Danielle Collins, Leylah Fernandez, Katie Boulter, Dayana Yamstremska, Emma Răducanu, Naomi Osaka, and Gabriela Ruse are also in the starting lineup.
Simona is currently training in Dubai these days, aiming to be as prepared as possible ahead of the Hong Kong tournament.
Also in Hong Kong, Simona achieved her first victory since returning to the WTA circuit.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has now provided the full reasoned decision in the case of Simona Halep, the outcome of which was announced on 5 March 2024.
The CAS panel partially upheld the player’s appeal, reducing Halep’s period of ineligibility for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation from four years to nine months.
