Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese recently announced a deal with Reebok giving the WNBA star her own feature shoe in 2026. She discussed the deal with the sportswear company on the most recent episode of her podcast “Unapologetically Angel” featuring guest Shaquille O’Neal.
“’It has been the best decision for me, being able to have my own control over everything,” Reese said. “Of course, I could have easily gone to Nike easily… I even look at other athletes on the women’s side and they sign with brands and they still don’t respect them.”
While Reese may have just been off on a tangent, her reference to a potential Nike deal could be seen as a thinly veiled shot at Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark
Clark recently inked an eight-year, $28 million deal with Nike. The figures for Reece’s contract with Reebok have yet to be released. After the news of her deal, Reece tweeted, “‘God is so good!! (looks like I can “afford” my bills now).”
Reece drew attention to WNBA salaries earlier in October during an Instagram Live session. The Chicago Sky star mentioned how her WNBA salary of $73,469 does not cover most of her expenses I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all,” Reese said. “I don’t even think that pays one of my bills, literally. I don’t even know my salary. I’m living beyond my means. My rent is more than that, it’s $8,000.”
“Hating pays my bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA doesn’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my [WNBA] salary
